Karen Orenstein, Founder

Before launching Tailor Made Staffing in her hometown of Los Angeles, founder and president Karen Orenstein worked at several organizations, from major corporations such as Yahoo! to non-profits such as Jewish Family Service. A recruiter for over fifteen years in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, she has vast experience staffing the homes of high-profile families and the offices of Fortune 500 companies with both entry and executive-level positions. Karen began her career at Yahoo!, taught Financial English in Paris, and later worked in recruiting for a boutique staffing firm in Los Angeles. After opening the firm’s New York satellite office and another staffing firm in New York, she returned to Los Angeles and worked in executive recruitment for Shirley Associates and DEX. Karen went on to work for Jewish Family Service before founding Tailor Made Staffing while also working in tech recruiting at Expedia and ThirdLove. Having studied at UC Boulder, La Sorbonne in Paris, and Oxford University in England, Karen is a well-traveled and informed entrepreneur—one who prides herself on understanding the unique needs of disparate groups of people. She is fluent in four languages and has lived in four different countries. A business major and self-proclaimed hopeless romantic, Karen is the perfect mix of efficiency and tenderness. These attributes come in handy when recruiting, as the process of connecting applicants and clients is essentially a form of matchmaking. Her commitment to integrity and professionalism, coupled with her experience in non-profit work is the inspiration behind donating a portion of every fee to charity. She is as dedicated to finding better opportunities for her candidates as she is to making the lives of her clients as easy as possible.

 

Kate Krieger, Vice President of Recruiting

Kate came to Tailor Made Staffing with more than 10 years of experience working in both the home and the office. As Vice President of Recruiting, her versatile background is a tremendous asset to understanding the dynamics of working in both environments. Kate has worked with high-profile clients in the entertainment and five-star hospitality. Her unparalleled attention to detail and superb client relation skills make her a stellar recruiter and business executive. Kate’s creative side has turned Tailor Made Staffing into a company that consistently thinks outside the box. A Los Angeles native with an international background, she has studied in Spain, France and the U.K., and speaks three languages. Kate studied at Boston University before receiving her B.A. in Psychology from Antioch University. A lover of people and matchmaking, Kate’s mission is to provide Tailor Made solutions for clients and candidates.
